Sports activities are well catered for in this area with Palmares Golf Course, which is one of the best on the Algarve, only a few minutes, drive away. Indeed there are a wide range of top championship golf courses all within a stones throw of Foz da Ria. Whilst there is a tennis court within the complex should you wish for further competition there are a number of tennis clubs which welcome new players.

You are also situated just beside Meia Praia, a beach which is close to three kilometres long, which means that finding a secluded spot is pretty much a certainty. Naturally a wide variety of water sports are available along the beach.

Shopping districts are within easy reach of Foz da Ria providing everything from traditional Portuguese pottery to the latest fashion whilst the world renowned Lagos Marina is definitely worth a visit, if only to try one of the many cafés and restaurants overlooking the yachts.
